Is The Children’s Pantry CACFP Registered?

YES we are! The Kentucky Department of Kentucky Department of Education Nutrition and Health Services administers the federally funded Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). This nutrition program reimburses participating child care centers for meals provided to children in their care.

What is the minimum number of meals?

Due to logistical reasons our contract minimum is 25 meals (for 25 children), this does not mean that you can’t get service if you only have 20 kids, it just means you will be billed and receive the equivalent of 25 meals.   


How do you deal with allergies?

We treat allergies very seriously, your center will be responsible for letting our staff know (in writing) of any allergies your children have, this will help us to plan our menu and make the adequate changes to your centers meal delivery.  Please ask your representative more details on our allergy default program.


How are the meals delivered?

Our meals are delivered daily and is included with the service at no additional cost to you. Our drivers start their route at 6am every morning .to ensure you get your order in plenty of time for lunch. We also offer breakfast and dinner meals as well as snacks. 

We pack our meals in family style containers that are then placed in a delivery tote with the rest of your order for the day. 

How is the food stored and served?

When your order arrives in the morning, simply check the order in, sign the delivery ticket and then store your day's meals in the refrigerator. When you first sign up for our service, we will send out a chef to your center with a complementary thermometer to talk to your staff about safe food handling and the best ways to portion and serve our food.

How do you bill our school?

Our billing is twice a month. The driver will pick up payment the following business day. 

How do we change the number of meals to be delivered?

Any center can update their next day’s meal delivery up to 12pm (the previous day), by calling us at 502.290.4584 We will accommodate your centers needs even if it occasionally falls under the minimum meals requirement. If you don't notify us via phone you will be delivered the contract default number of meals.
